Parents and Guardians:
Canyons School District has the following chromebook physical damage fines that begin for new chromebook checkouts, starting Monday, August 26th. For returning students, these district-set fines are still in effect. For a replacement chromebook, $225 will be applied to the student’s Skyward account. For a replacement cord, $30 will be applied to the student’s Skyward account. For any screen damage, case or shell damage, or keyboard damage, the IT department will apply a $50 fine for each separate category. These fines can be found under the Curricular and Co-Curricular section in the High School fee schedule (this link will open to a new webpage). Brighton’s administrative team will be updated with monthly chromebook fines that are provided by the district’s IT repair department. Chromebook fines will be sent to Skyward at the end of each trimester. If you have any questions regarding the dates of check out and check in, please reach out to the library. If you have questions about the district’s chromebook fees, please reach out to your student’s vice principal. Both Brighton’s library staff and vice-principals can begin the conversation with the district’s IT department.
