Dear Brighton Community Parent Members,
We are now accepting applications to serve on this year’s Brighton High School Community Council. Serving on a School Community Council (SCC) is a wonderful way for parents to be actively involved in their children’s education. In Canyons School District, School Community Council members review school data, identify school needs, establish goals, and allocate funds toward accomplishing those objectives. Every year, each SCC creates school plans and reviews district plans with the overarching goal of addressing their greatest academic needs and creating an effective and safe learning environment for their school.
The Brighton High SCC can have up to 24 total SCC members (14 voting parents/10 voting staff members). The time commitment includes a meeting once a month except in June and July. The meetings are usually held at 3:30pm on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. SCC members must commit to attend a minimum of 75% of the scheduled SCC meetings during the school year.
Applications are due by August 26, 2024. If needed, elections will be held August 28th- September 3rd, 2024.
