Brighton High School has a large and diverse student body consisting of students with many differing talents and abilities. The purpose of the Merit Cord program is to encourage and challenge students as well as reward them for their many accomplishments while attending Brighton High School. As students look through the possible recognition, hopefully, they will find something that will inspire them to reach a little higher. Students are encouraged to fulfill the requirements of any or all of the following awards.
Students must apply for each award separately in March of their senior year. Applications open March 1 and close March 22. No late applications will be accepted. If you are taking online classes and want them to count for your merit cord, they need to be completed by the end of the 2nd trimester, and your grade needs to be posted on your transcript. This includes Grade Replacement, classes.
