  • Next year, the district will be rolling out CSDtv, a Educational TV Station to broadcast academic, arts, and athletics events throughout our schools. As a part of this TV Station we are creating an after school student broadcasting program that students can sign up for to receive school credit. A little about CSDtv CSDtv broadcasting is an extracurricular program in which students learn advanced life-long technology concepts, and hone their planning, writing, and editing skills. More importantly, students develop critical thinking and cooperative learning strategies as they create messages in their videos and convey their meaning to specific audiences. Students are also involved in live streaming and recording school events in the area of academics, arts, and athletics. CSDtv broadcasters are involved in many aspects of the live broadcast. Students are announcers for the game itself, conduct sideline reporting, operate the video cameras, and help with live streaming software during a broadcast. Many students also conduct pre-game interviews which are played during the live broadcast. Students also create different graphics and “lower thirds” displayed during the broadcast. Students meet 2-4 a month depending on the events scheduled. Who is a good fit for CSDtv This is a great opportunity for students to continue the work they are doing at their schools and engage in activities throughout the District. Any students who are interested in the following would be a great fit:
    • Filmmaking
    • Content Creators
    • Editing
    • Podcasting
    • Graphics
    • Broadcasting
    • Sports Writer
    • Storytellers
    • Filmmakers
    • And More!
If you have any students who are interested, they can get more info and sign up at the link below. I have also attached a flyer for the Internship program and the afterschool program for you to print out and post. https://csdtv.canyonsdistrict.org/students/
