Reminder on AP/PSAT tests

PSAT

Parents! It’s that time of year again for students to register to take the PSAT exam! Registration is open now in the Main Office to pay for the test and select the date that best suits their needs. The test will be held on October 11 and 25th and will be $20 or covered by fee waiver. The PSAT is an important tool in getting your student college ready by providing a secure testing environment and allowing your student to have important feedback on areas they can improve their testing ability. 11th graders who take the test are entered into the National Merit Finalist Scholarship program if they test well.

Students must register for the test by September 15

Contact Erin Kaufman, the Brighton High Testing Coordinator with any questions. Erin.kaufman@canyonsdistrict.org

AP Exams

Students and Parents, When choosing classes for the upcoming school year consider taking an AP class taught by our excellent teachers. Taking one or two AP classes can save thousands in college tuition and teach students important skills to take into college by learning to take classes with rigorous standards and prepare them for college courses to succeed.

AP Exams this year are $100 for standard exams and $145 for Capstone programs. Please pay in the main office by November 10 to avoid paying a $40 late fee. Students must register for their exam through MyAP AND pay for the test to avoid paying the late fee.

Talk to your counselor about being placed into any of the courses we offer here at Brighton, and if you qualify based on preconditions some courses may require.

We encourage all students and teachers to consider taking an AP exam and if the cost of the exam places a burden on the family, we implore that you meet with your counselor, administrator or the main office for assistance paying the exam.
