Announcements:

  • On January 18 the School Community Council funded $30,000 grant applications for students and teachers at Brighton High. The projects that were funded included: 
    • Physics engineering supplies 
    • Senior English capstone projects
    • Jewelry engraving supplies
    • Supplies for Chinese calligraphy and cultural celebrations
    •  Funding for bands instructors to come teach different groups twice a month.
    • Robotics CNC engraver machine
    • Books for brain based learning
    • Money earmarked for future purchase of harp
    • Supplies for students to make art that includes music, costumes, and lei’s for the People of the Pacific Class 
  • Our annual College Day for all of our Juniors will be held on Feb. 1st. This is a great opportunity for the Juniors to meet with the college representatives and to really start thinking about where they want to attend college. All of the Juniors will be dismissed to the auditorium at 7:55am.  Attached is the agenda for the morning and the classrooms in which the college reps will be.  If your Junior has not done so already, please have them register for this event at: https://app.strivescan.com/students
  • Brighton is hiring two classroom para-educator positions. It is a great opportunity to get to know the wonderful students, faculty and staff. One position receives benefits and is 35 hours per week. The other position is 27 hours per week. Please apply on the Canyons District website under the Human Resources tab.
  • If your Junior signed up for ACT classes please remember to put the dates on your calendar:
    • Science – January 30 and February 3, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
    • Math –  February 6 and February 8, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
    • English – February 13 and February 15, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
    All juniors will be taking the ACT at Brighton on Tuesday, March 7. No registration or fee is required. Students must bring their Chromebook, picture ID and a calculator.
  • Attention all sprinters and distance runners! Pre-season track practice begins January 2023! Meet at 2:45 every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday near the indoor track in the B building.
  • Would you love to be a part of the Brighton High Staff? Our cafeteria is hiring three cashier positions! One position is 5 ½ hours per day, M-F and pays $16.56 per hour. The other two positions are two hours per day,  M-F and pay $14.06 hour. Working in the cafeteria is a fun way to be involved at Brighton and meet new people!.
  • SheTech EXPLORER DAY  for  9 – 12 Grade Women!    REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN to attend the – FREE – SheTech Explorer Day Tuesday, February 28th @ 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.   You will be exposed to technology in a fun and exciting way! You will meet role models within the tech industry, attend interactive workshops, and even participate in a tech challenge with other girls!  It’s an awesome day!   • Check out the Brighton 2022-23 Spirit Wear at the following upcoming events-Friday, Jan 6th- Boys Basketball Thursday, Jan 12th- Wrestling meet Sweatshirts ($20) and tees ($10) for sale! With just a handful of long-sleeve tees in limited sizes left ($15).   • Career Exploration Opportunities!
